IOL · Letters · 31 July 2026 · By Stacey Jansen
REDISA’s Stacey Jansen responds to IOL’s coverage of the organisation’s work with Resolve Communications. She argues that using communications support to call out failures in waste tyre management is normal democratic advocacy, not a political attack.
She also points out that South Africa produces more than 70 000 waste tyres a day and recycles less than 30% of them, and that the damage caused by REDISA’s unlawful shutdown has never been put right.
