Waste tyres: an environmental and economic opportunity

Chris Crozier argues that South Africa’s waste tyre problem is also an economic opportunity.

Instead of piling tyres up in government depots, the country could bring back an industry-led model like REDISA’s, which used existing infrastructure, created jobs and could be restarted quickly. He says the levies being collected now are not delivering results.
